A Política Integrada de Segurança, Saúde Ocupacional e Meio Ambiente, conhecida como ATITUDE, estabelece diretrizes para preservação ambiental, prevenção de acidentes e incidentes de segurança e meio ambiente. Aplica-se a todos os empregados da Jirau Energia e às partes interessadas em nosso negócio, incluindo empresas contratadas, visitantes, consultores, e toda e qualquer pessoa física e jurídica que adentre as dependências da Usina Hidrelétrica Jirau.

Sustainability and environmental preservation are part of Jirau Energia's identity and values. Aware and concerned about the environmental impacts that our activity may have, even when working with renewable energy sources, we decided to invest heavily in research and development projects capable of preventing or mitigating impacts on ecosystems. Jirau Energia believes in efficiency combined with the sustainable use of natural resources.

Jirau Energia, through the Program of Research and Technological Development of the Electric Energy Sector regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency - ANEEL, seeks to foster an environment that stimulates creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, promoting the culture of innovation that drives generation or innovative application of knowledge relevant to contributing to overcoming the Brazilian Electric Sector’s challenges inherent to power generation.

OUR RESULTS ARE
SIGNIFICANT
In eight years of commercial operation, Jirau Energia has generated more than 102 billion kWh of energy, a milestone relevant to energy security in the country and for the sustainable development in the Amazon region. Jirau Energia has already contributed to the reduction of about six million tons of carbon per year and has been certified by the United Nations (UN) as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), being the largest CDM renewable energy project registered in the world.
